Hiya -

are there any recommendations for an alternate to the “skier squat” in the 12-week Mt. Rinier Training program?

i tried it based on the description but it was awkward, difficult, and I may have hurt my back. 

The descrition sounds more like a side lunge 

Any suggestions?

Step Ups or just walk up/down hills.
