FitClimb

I am preparing for Mt Hood in July.  We initially planned on going in April, but the weather prevented us from climbing - strong winds, fresh snow and considerable avalanche danger.

I printed up and will follow the 6 week training plan, but does anyone have any other suggestions.  I live in Minnesota so there are really no options for altitude training...my one and only option is stairs.  I also purchased an altitude mask to use during some cardio training sessions.

I also started pilates to work on building core and strenghtening my hips...when we went snow shoeing in April I realized thsi is a very weak point for me.  Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks all!

Hi Mary Ann,

If you still have snow on the ground continue snow shoeing and try and break trail.  I would focus on your cardio and getting your heart rate up, don't worry too much about the altitude.
